Solera®

Insulated Glass Daylighting Units

The Third Building Material.

Opaque walls isolate. Vision glass invites glare and heat. Solera® is the missing third option—engineered translucent glazing that transforms raw sunlight into soft, usable daylight while providing the insulation of a solid wall.

  Solera Translucent Glazing Installation

Glare-free daylight isn’t a feature. It’s a performance standard.

We understand the challenges of daylighting design. Building constraints, thermal budgets, and glare control often force compromises. Solera® was engineered to eliminate those compromises, giving you the perfect daylighting solution without the bolt-on fixes.

Exceptional Quality Daylight

Solera® units are engineered daylight diffusers. They transform raw, harsh sunlight into soft, gentle, practical daylight that fills your entire space. This gives you all the benefits of natural light without the glare and heat gain that cause so many daylighting projects to fail.

  • High Light Diffusion Power: Superior dispersion throughout irregular spaces, eliminating shadows and hot spots regardless of sun position.
  • Insane Insulation: Choose the amount of daylight you want, and the insulation you need—up to an unprecedented R-25.
  • Inherent Longevity: Made of glass. It is permanent, UV-stable, and includes a warranty against color change. It will not yellow or deteriorate like plastics or FRP.

The Best of Both Worlds: Aerogel Insulation

By integrating Lumira® aerogel, Solera® achieves unsurpassed thermal performance while maintaining excellent light transmission.
🌡️

Unsurpassed Thermal Insulation

Achieve an R-value of 8 per inch (U-value of 0.64W/m²K per 25mm), dramatically reducing solar heat gain and loss.

💡

High Light Transmission

Maintains 75% light transmission per 3/8″ (80% per cm) for bright, usable interior spaces.

Decreased Energy Consumption

Lowers demands on heating, A/C, lighting, and ventilation, directly reducing carbon emissions.

💧

100% Hydrophobic

Unmatched moisture resistance ensures long-term performance and clarity without degradation.

🔊

Improved Acoustic Performance

Enhances Sound Transmission Class (STC) ratings, creating quieter, more comfortable indoor environments.

🌿

Sustainability Certified

Compatible with major sustainable building certifications including LEED, BREEAM, WELL, and Fitwel.

Highly Customizable: One Size Does Not Fit All

Compatible with virtually any standard window, storefront, curtain wall, or skylight system, Solera® allows specifiers to precisely configure properties for new construction or retrofits.

  • Daylight Modeling: We use Radiance daylight design software to model your space, helping you choose the right glass, color, shape, size, and light levels.
  • Framing Flexibility: Use conventional framing, or choose our unique SoleraWall® system that clads directly over primary framing for a lower cost, faster build, and elegant frameless look.

What is Light Diffusing Power?

Light Diffusing Power (LDP) is a proprietary measurement system developed to compare the light diffusing ability of various glasses and coatings. The higher the number, the better the diffusion.

By using LDP, you can choose the best product combination for your project, ensuring you get the exact amount of controlled daylight required to eliminate glare while maintaining thermal performance.
