Stop Fighting The Sun,
Start Designing With It.

Daylight Is Not A Design Feature,
It’s A Performance Metric.

For too long, architects have been forced to choose between the beauty of glass and the comfort of the people inside it. Glare, heat gain, and privacy failures aren’t aesthetic problems — they’re performance failures. Solera® ends the trade-off, giving you the freedom to design buildings that are as high-performing as they are iconic.

The Glazing Paradox: Why Good Design Gets Compromised

You design a beautiful glass facade to connect occupants with the outdoors, only to see it covered in blinds. You specify for performance, but the materials degrade and yellow, undermining the aesthetic. This is the paradox of conventional glazing.
Vision Glass Glare Problem
The Vision Glass Trap
The Promise: Views, connection, and a modern aesthetic.
The Failure: Uncontrolled glare, solar heat gain, and a lack of privacy.
The Result: Occupants deploy blinds, energy costs rise, and the intended connection to the outdoors is severed. Your design is hidden.
Degraded Plastic Panels
The “Value-Engineered” Mistake
The Promise: Light diffusion and lower upfront costs.
The Failure: Rapid UV degradation, discoloration, and a cheap, industrial aesthetic.
The Result: The building’s appearance degrades over time, requiring costly replacement and undermining the long-term value and integrity of your design.
Solera Solution Interior
The Solera® Solution
The Promise: The longevity and beauty of glass combined with high-performance, full-diffusion daylighting.
The Win: Eliminates glare and hot spots while maintaining thermal performance, acoustic comfort, and privacy.
The Result: A building that performs as beautifully as it looks. Occupants are comfortable and productive, and your design intent is realized for the life of the building.

A Better Approach to Glazing Design

Most architects are forced to compromise: beautiful glass means glare and discomfort. Solera® changes that equation. Our design methodology helps you use the right glazing type in the right place—creating buildings that work for people.

1

Frame Views

Start by framing your views: Use vision glass where you want clear sightlines and connection to the outdoors.

2

Diffuse & Backlight

Use Solera® translucent glazings above, beside, or below vision glass to bring in abundant, glare-free daylight without compromising comfort.

3

Hide What Needs Hiding

Use opaque panels where you don’t need daylight or views – perfect to hide operational uglies and to provide structure.

How Are We So Confident in Our Glare Control?

Because we measure what matters: Light Diffusion Power™
Our Proprietary Measurement System

Light Diffusion Power™ (LDP)

Most glazing systems are measured by how much light they transmit. But that doesn’t tell you whether the light is usable. Light Diffusion Power™ (LDP) measures how evenly light is distributed across a space—the key to eliminating glare and creating comfortable, productive environments.

LDP ranges from 0 (clear glass, all direct light) to 1.0 (perfectly diffused). Higher LDP means better light distribution, less glare, and no need for blinds or shades.

Solera® LDP: 0.95 (Excellent diffusion)
